Great find at an estate sale I found driving along the lake front. For $18 I purchased a glass jar filled with these old marbles. It was a mix of clay Bennington, Latticino, Divided Core, Solid Core, Ribbon Core, Clambroth, Onion Skin, Mica Flake, and other neat designs. They range in size and condition. I separated the better condition ones from the damaged. The larger marbles are over 1” and smaller ones over 1/2”. My favorite is pictured above of the larger Divided Core marble with several different color ribbon cores, and the solid core marble with a red, white, and blue core caged within yellow swirls. It looks like a caged bird.
Nice find to say the least --- Nice Clambroth's on the end. Congrats!!!!
@ehunt , those are some of my favorites. The pink clambroth has faceted pontils from the 1850’s and is probably 1 1/8”. My favorite of the three!
