    Notary Stamp Machines

In Part II of this post, I will show the stamps that the machines in the previous post produce. I used some post it notes and placed them into the machines. All three machines worked perfectly embossing the paper and leaving a crisp image.

There's a large, medium and small size.

The smallest one has a stamp of 3 initials. The initials are LHR.

The medium one was a mystery. I reached out to the Pike County Historical Society for answers. They were very helpful and interested in the piece. I am going to donate the item to them.

    L.U. no 1093 B. of P.D. & P. of A.
    Pittsfield. Illinois
    Organized July 10 1918
    Inc Dec 07,1894
    Organized Mar 13. 1897

**"It is the Brotherhood of Painters, Decorators and Paperhangers of America, Local 1093
I found one record of bylaws approved in January, 1918 for the Pittsfield local.
The inside ring is the national organization formed in 1887.
The symbol is an easel with paint brushes. The union is still active as the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades."**

And the largest is from a lumber company.

    Purdin, Missouri

**Didn't find any information on this company. Lots of tornadoes in this area, maybe it was destroyed?)

I donated the one notary to the Pike County Historical Society. Sent it off today via UPS. Wasn't cheap because it's cast iron and weighs 5 lbs. They are reimbursing me for shipping costs. They have some artwork and other items from the local house of a painter. They're still researching hoping it's associated. That would be an amazing ending. Regardless, it's heading back to where it belongs.
