Phoenix Iron Company Registry #187, Inspector: James Madison Whitmore. 1862 dated. Weight 817 lbs. Some original carriage irons, right trunnion plate marked. A superb example of this workhorse Civil War gun. Unlike many survivors, this gun has a virtually perfect bore. Currently has a thick black coating, said to be an arsenal-applied preservative. A full set of implements is included. The restoration and carriage were done by Stafford Wheel and Carriage, and reflects his usual high quality work.
Also awesome.
I bet you have some nervous neighbors.
