    Found this watercolor at an art gallery in Buffalo, NY. It’s signed HClapp and in the envelope on the back there is a tag that says “Howard Clapp #3, “Taxi Instructions”. Seems the artist was born in 1920 so likely a WWII-related image. Was drawn to it immediately.

      the aircraft carrier USS Enterprize (CVN 65) was commissioned in 1961

      Thank you for that info TallCakes. The world’s first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier! Outfitted with 8 Westinghouse A2W nuclear reactors. Also played a role in Top Gun in 1986.

      too bad CW doesn't provide contact for users so you could contact the artist's son. The U.S. Navy Art Collection does have some of his artwork but not seeing this one.
