Hi,
I'm mainly a watch collector, but several years ago I picked up an unusual very old toy in the shape of a pocket watch, with a dancing girl. When you push the button at top, the dancing girl moves. I'm guessing early 1900s? Anyone have an idea when this was made or any other thoughts or information??
Thanks, David
Hi, dhhirsch. :-)
Beautiful.
You probably already know this, but I didn't previously, and had to look it up.
On the theory that somebody else looking at the post might not know it either, I'm going to add the information here. :-)
Partially obscured by the dancing figure is the information "BREVETE SGDG."
So it's either a French or Belgian patent:

I also see the letters "E.F" on the face, and wonder what else might be hidden by the dancing figure.
Thanks. Good information. It's really a neat piece... very unusual...
