I'm hoping the parts are all there. I'm going to see my watch repair guy and we'll see. I also wondered if any missing parts could be replaced by the US version, which is readily available for cheap....
I added a few pictures of the watches... I've had them since around 2016...
Thanks. Good information. It's really a neat piece... very unusual...
Hi Mickeysmagic. Its really a remarkable collection.
Very informative posting and discussion. I just picked up one of the Pinocchio watches, but unfortunately without the box or figurine. Still, got it cheap and from what I can find, its rare. Would ...
Thanks Kerry...
Thanks Kerry, Nice to finally meet you. I've seen a lot of your posts and it looked like you haven't participated for a while. I guess I need to find an appropriate Birthday watch for the box.
Thanks Kerry, Oh well, I paid very little for it and it actually runs. I do have one of the 1930s lapel watches with the decal on the back. Thanks for chiming in and providing your expertise... m...
I had hoped to find an ad from the 1950s that had the Hopalong and Mickey wide bezel lapel watches as a way to confirm that they were legitimate. I wonder if the dials and movements are similar, or i...
Hi Vynil33rpm I guess even though its 8 years old, we can still interact on this posting...
H igeo26e, You might be right, but I have a several of Mickey Mouse watches that are supposedly from 1955 and 1958 according to the reference books and they all have Ingersoll on them. One is the Mi...
whoops, meant 1950s... I always seem to make typos...
Hi geo26e, My understanding is U.S. Time made the Hopalong watches. U.S. Time was a successor to Ingersoll and used the Ingersoll name on Mickey Mouse watches from the later 40s into the 1050s. He...
Hi, I've been trying to find infomation about a companion to this, a Mickey Mouse lapel watch in the same style. Not the 1930s version with the Mickey Mouse sticker on the back, but one like the Hop...
Good thought and likely correct. I'm guessing it was offered in some fashion as an option in gold tone, for $1.00 more, in 1948 when the Birthday series boxes came out. After all, while the Birthday...
Thanks Celiene, Perhaps a prototype, but I'm guessing that the Airman case may have been used by Benrus before it became the Airman. Bulova did that famously with their Lone Eagle watch in 1927...
Great suggestions! Thanks... David
Hey mickeysmagic, I managed to score a copy of Time to Rewind a guide to collecting Disneyana Ingersoll wrist watches 1933-1939 by R.H.Farber. It's definitely what I was looking for. Lots of grea...
Just shot a message to barbwhyr40 asking if he had another copy, or could suggest where to find one. I'll keep my fingers crossed... David
I really appreciate the generous offer to take photos of the book, but its really too much to ask of you to do. 84 pages is a lot. It's really extremely kind of you to offer, but I can't ask you to ...
BTW, looks like" Time to Rewind a guide to collecting Disneyana Ingersoll wrist watches 1933-1939 by R.H.Farber" is out of print and not available on any of the used book sites (Addall, Abebooks, etc....
Mickeysmagic, thank you so much for the very informative response about the books and your insights into collecting Mickey Mouse watches. I collect based on what interests me and not for resale. I d...
The watches were made by Ingersoll...
I should add that I’m particularly interested in finding out when the watch was made. The style is clearly from the late 1920s to early 1930s. I have an extensive collection of early Bulova watches ...
