OK, Google Translate rendered "Candy Critters" as "Süßigkeitslebewesen." Is that right? Dunno.
I was (charmingly) sidetracked while researching the history of the PEZ candy dispenser by an article at the German Patent and Trademark Office website that delves into the question of exactly how the Easter Bunny lays eggs.
That led me to an 1894 patent for candy dispensers.
I'm not going to try to translate the entire text of the German patent, but an 'interesting' tidbit is that the dispensing critter will "drop ducats." };-)
Anyway...
