1930's paint bucket from the Carter White Lead Company. Located in Omaha, Nebraska, the Carter White Lead Company manufactured red and white leads used to paint buildings from 1877 to 1936. The bucket is black with white lettering. This little bucket measures 7 inches high by 6 1/2 inches across..... 25 net pounds (lead is heavy) The wooden bucket of iron oxide is about the same size.
Linseed Oil +Pure White Lead + Iron Oxide = Cheap Red Barn Paint that helped protect the wood from the weather and termites.
