Dug this tooled cork top 1904-1908 variant Chesebrough Vaseline jar. Vaseline patented 1872 by chemist Robert Chesebrough. Who travelled to Titusville Pa. oil fields to research uses for oil. He noticed workers were using substance from oil rig pumps called rod wax' for cuts and burns. Chesebrough took samples to Brooklyn NY extracted petroleum jelly aka medicinal. Vaseline.
