Another exciting boxed model. This one has the E4 style box . The model was first released in 1966 and sold through 1970. It was sold in the E box through 1968 and as this is the last version of the E box so I am going with 1968. It could possibly be 1967. In 1969 it was released in an F box and in 1970 it was made into a Superfast model.
Now the nifty feature on this model is the opening hood revealing the V8 engine. The Opel Diplomat was a luxury car and was known for having a V8. That was a bit more unusual in Europe than in the US.
Perhaps next week we can give that trailer hook a workout.
So cool! At first i thought it was a Rambler, then a Chevy 2. Nice that the hood stays open to reveal the rare V8 engine.
The coupe version at the top of this Wikipedia page isn't too bad looking. And with a 327 it would be a cool car..reminiscent of an early Chevelle body style.

I loved them till I was 16
Nice that it has a 327 Chev gngine coupled to a two speed "slip and slide" Powerglide
Thank you very much DejaVu. It does look like a Chevy.
Thank you very much Dave. Apparently it was too large for the European market.
Thank you very much kivatinitz. They left me.
Thank you very much Falcon.
