So this is how you start with a 2018 Chevy Equinox and end up with a 1989 Rolls Royce Silver Spur. My dad was driving a 2012 Honda Civic with 149,000 miles on it. I suggested he get a new 2018 Equinox as the new body styles just came out. He had previously owned a 2005 debut year of the Equinox and liked it. So we get the car in 2017 as an 2018 model. Well he didn't like it ! Drove it twice and stated I don't like not having a key and all that touch screen stuff....you take it. I'll drive the Civic I'm used too. He titled it to me and I drove it about 3 years. Traded that for a 49K mile 2015 Chevy Impala LTZ . Great car Chevy was nuts for discontinuing it. I preferred sitting up higher and I really missed my Cadillac's so out goes the Impala and in comes the SRX. It was the performance model with only 59K miles on it and had different driving modes etc. Nothing wrong here except now I wanted better mileage because of gas prices and was considering a hybrid. Hello Carvana goodbye SRX. The Sonatas looked nice but the color I wanted was hard to come by post pandemic then the parts shortage and all. A Rolls was never a thought but when I looked at a new car and the prices and limited choice this peaked my interest. Wow, a Rolls for less than a new car ! Never crossed my mind. Took a few months to track down a nice solid driver but I did. It's a very imposing car to drive and requires your COMPLETE attention to get it down the road. Panic stops and turning corners sharply are big no-no's. So where do you go from here. Back down I guess. Hmm now I'm missing my Caddy again. The Civic you ask well that traded for my 2006 Chevy HHR that I now use as a daily driver, 77K to 96K and still going strong. Yes, car guys are nuts ! -Mike-

Very fine Impala & knockout Rolls which must be a dream to drive. We really miss our Caddy Seville as well, great car
Omg, I love the rolls and that blue is just stunning!!!
Oh... And us car girls, we're not nuts, we're just picky and know what we like!!! ;)
Thanks for the "loves" and comments Jenni and shareurpassion. I like the Impala too. Wish I could have kept them all. Don't get me started on Seville's. Love the slant backs. had an 85' in burgundy but the head gasket let go over the Winter storage ages ago so..bye-bye.
I almost don't feel worthy when I drive the Rolls and so afraid of road debris and other drivers. The saying "penny wise and pound foolish" describes the upkeep of these cars to a tee. She has her share of "patina" for a 34 year old car but still presents nicely. You are more a custodian than owner with these cars but she's a grand lady ! :)
