    These three cameras are individually posted here on Show & Tell, but I wanted to show a "family" picture comparing the format (size) differences.

    As background, the "Folding Kodak" series of cameras were introduced in 1890 and represent the beginning of the most popular style of American "self-casing" cameras - adopted by other makers - throughout the decade. When closed, the top lid looks like a box cover. It flips upward to gain access to the inner plates and roll film holders.

    Three formats, each made in various models, were sold from 1890 to 1897: No.4 (4 x 5), No.5 (5 x 7) and No.6 (6½ x 8½). The No.6 is the rarest model with a 1893 - 1895 production run of only 150 cameras.

    Left-to-right:
    * 1890 No.4 Folding Kodak (first version) with "Eastman's Wing Shutter."
    * 1893 No.5 Improved Folding Kodak (rare stereo version).
    * 1895 No.6 Improved Folding Kodak.
