These drawings are 10" x 8" and each is titled and signed "Mary Ryan 1-75". Not sure if these drawings are conte crayons, markers, etc., but are hand drawn and colored.

I have half a dozen of these but not sure where the others are. I have had these for many years, a thrift shop find, and vaguely recall that one of them suggested that Mary was a student, possibly in medical school (?). My memory is not too clear. These have been in storage for a long time. I just happened to come across them, recently.

Seems inspired by the illustrations in Sendak's "Where the Wild Things Are" or "Alice In Wonderland ".

I especially like the one titled something like "DEVIATED SEPTUM ABOARD PENTAPED ???????"

      kwqd, You're welcome. :-)

I only latterly realized that all of the drawings have labels or titles suggesting the artist had a background in medicine:

ADOLESCENT FEMALE TURBINATE ADULT MALE POLYP

      AGGRESSIVE STEROID SUPPRESSING INFANTILE POLYP

      DEVIATED SEPTUM ABOARD PENTAPED ETHMOID

Yep, kearmikos! I think she was a medical student. One of the other drawings had an inscription that suggested that, but I do not remember what it said. I have had these in storage for around 20 years and just came across these three..

I loved them all the more after reading the “fine print” below the critters and learning the artist was a medical student.
If she became a doctor, she probably brings humor and comfort to her patients.
