Eh, what can I say about this, other than what I already put in the title?
It's a holder for spare cone-style coffee filters, and it can either be put on a counter top, because the bottom is flat, or mounted on a wall, because there's a handy little hole in the upper back. I think I bought it in the 1980s.
I thought I remembered that it was made by Melitta, but it has no brand mark on it anywhere. It does go well with the white porcelain Melitta cone filter holder I have that can be put on top of a coffee pot or a mug to make drip coffee, e.g.:

This is probably something else that will cause head-scratching for the younguns who will go through my estate some day.
Good looking & clever idea for keeping coffee filters neat & at hand
never saw one before, thanks for the post
kivatinitz, Thanks.
The amount of coffee paraphernalia I have is fairly ridiculous, considering that I mostly drink instant coffee nowadays.
