Fallshirmjager is German for paratrooper although Germany had stopped using airborne assults early in the war. But they still had them. They were used as infantry but they kept their distinctive uniforms and equipment. This figure is from the Monte Casino campaign where allied air power destroyed a historic monastery but it did no good as the Germans just fought from the rubble.
Of all my German WWII figures this is the only officer. The figure looks older so it may be a higher ranking officer like a colonel, could be a captain. Has most of a gear a German infantryman would carry but I left most of that off. Makes him look more like an officer that way. The figure has a pipe which is a nice touch along with the famed Luger pistol.
He will be riding befits an officer, even iff they are just dressed up VW bugs.
