Early "Slow Children Playing" Steel Embossed Sign
Heavy gauge steel 24" X 18"
Nice Graphics on this old sign.
The last pic shows a comparison to a more modern aluminum caution sign which is 30" X 30"
Riddle me this.....
Why did modern signs loose hands and feet and gain bowling ball heads? And look..... no hats!
Thanks Much for Looking!

Good thing it doesn’t say dimwitted children
it only says slow children :)
Yes the old signs are much classier.
"slow children playing"
Well if they moved a bit faster perhaps they wouldn't get run over
Thank You dav2n01, Vinul33rpm, fortapache, and elanski for taking the time to comment on my post! :)
@ dav2no1.... a very informative link about signs.... Thanks!
@ Vynil33rpm.... yes... the sign designers were very careful about using the correct wording to leave the driver not questioning the intent of the message.... :)
@fortapache.... I concur! :)
@elanski..... perhaps....perhaps.... :)
Don’t get me wrong ,, the graphics are 100 times better on the early sign
@ Vynil33rpm.... no wrongness taken :)
BTW.... growing up on a farm...there was no need for these signs in our area - we youngins' were always working :)
In a town near me year's ago the SLOW CHILDREN PLAYING SIGNS had SLOW in the sign blacked out. I guess someone complained it may be taken to mean special needs children?? Don't see that kind of sign anymore.
