Antique Cast Iron LongHorn Bull Hood Ornament ?

Hello, I purchase this Cast Iron piece from a Friend , He is quite experienced and he tells me this is a very old cast iron hood ornament . I really would like some feedback on this . It is cast Iron and that throws me off . There is a nub on the lowest hoof that appears to be broken off as if it stood up like that. It seems to be very well made and retains most of some black paint. If it is an ornament would anyone know the Manufacturer for more Information. Thank you Ahead
