What a stunningly beautiful set!! Such a great find
Is that the only markings on it? What looks like a raised six point star? Can’t make out the brown markings just looking at it. I was thinking, possibly Japanese… Nippon made beautiful Cocoa sets as well.
Lovely set. I think often a star is from a support on the base to stop it warping during firing?....not sure if it actually helps to identify a country.
Welcome to CW. My opinion is..looks like a chocolate pot..and the cups look tall and slender, which would also be chocolate..
Remember the nursery rhyme..I'm like a tea pot short and stout..

Nippon chocolate pot, which exhibits many of the unique art techniques and skills found on this popular, antique porcelain - all on one amazing piece. Truly worthy of a museum or an upscale collection.This chocolate pot has âe~heavily beadedâe(tm) areas, enameled areas, hand painted and moriage areas. The pattern is a combination of wisteria, reeds, very ornate leaves, and a butterfly. The background is a dark, matte green. The upper area of the chocolate pot and the lower area of the lid have heavy gold overlay which is beaded with tiny white beads and areas of deep pink handpainted flowers. These gold areas are outlined in an irregular pattern of moriage with beading. Variegated leaves with several colors of enamel grace the area below the moriage outlines, and hand painted purple wisteria drips from the leaves. The wisteria is all outlined in thin white moriage. A highly-detailed butterfly flits among the greenery. The handles of the lid and of the pot are a light jade green with turquoise beading and flourishes. T are lighter green sprays of reeds and tendrils that have small moriage dots on them. Another heavy line of moriage circles near the bottom of the pot. In Joan Van Pattenâe(tm)s book, "Van Pattenâe(tm)s ABCâe(tm)s of Collecting Nippon Porcelain", she describes many of the techniques and patterns which appear on Nippon porcelain. We quote from areas of this book:Page 225, Insects and Bugs: "Insect and bug designs are found on surprisingly very few pieces of Nippon. The few featured on Nippon wares were generally hand painted, although a few are in relief molded, some on coralene pieces, moraige, and even gold etched wares. Nine different little creatures are features: the butterfly, dragonfly, ...etc."Page 238, Moriage Decoration: Moriage decoration has the appearance of dried cake frosting. It was applied to the piece via the use of the icchin, which consisted of a piece of paper infused with persimmon tannin and rolled into a funnel shape

you have to safequard this by a better assessor , because i believe in this and otherwise you got shanghaid if you want to sell it , and i do mean a VERY SKILLED assessor with the right sampling from his equipment and not a nitwit like , because i got a lot of work in this. and i do mean an awfull lot
