This is a really cool Art Nouveau glass vase that I won on eBay AU last week. The bidding was competitive but I managed to make it mine!
It is made from green glass with a fine vertical ribbed texture & a satin finish. There is an applied clear stem winding up the vase from a clear leaf - like base, which features pale yellow streaks. The yellow contains cadmium & glows under UV light.
The vase measures 25 cm tall, 5 cm across the top rim, & 10 cm across the base.
In perfect condition.
Bohemian origin, circa 1900.
From certain aspects of the design & decor, I believe that this may have been made by Kralik.
Nice and interesting you can use it also upsidedown
Many thanks, kivatinitz!
Yes, I agree, the top & bottom on this vase could easily be reversed & it would still make sense visually - the "foot" is very flower - like, especially.
Spectacular!!! Congrats on such a wonderful win!!!
It’s wonderful MARIN. ELEGANCE !!!
Thanks so much, Scott!
Thanks also, Kevin!
So lovely vase! In shining green and white colours and among lilies of the valley. Very nice.
Much appreciated, Beyermann!
I planted the lily of the valley five years ago after moving house...I'm lucky to live in one of the few places in Australia where they can be grown successfully...
Aha, Australia! I was thinking of that... In my garden in Sweden they bloom in april!
That's so gorgeous, silky in look, and feel I'm sure.
Yes, it's the opposite down here, Beyermann!
Thanks so much, Karen! And it was super to catch up yesterday - had a great time!
I've just posted the little custard glass vase & yes, it glows like crazy...
Without seeing anything else Marin, I knew that this was Your post! :^D A Great Photo of Glass in Nature! Beautiful Find and Great win! Bill :^)
Exquisite! It fits in perfectly amongst the flowers
Much appreciated, Bill!
