I found this the other day too. it's very small at just 3,25 inches in diameter. It has butterflies and persimons [maybe?] on the inside and 4 bats around the outside. the glaze is laid down thickly on top - like enamel. China with four characters.
mnemonic fake hongxian bbl
Hongxian is the era name of the short lived emperorship of Yuan Shikai which lasted only 83 days in 1916
this is the normal Hongxian marking, we also got the hongxian Yuzhi marking
Well real Hongxian is extremely rare , there are only 2 handfulls of it worldwide, and every basketcase is selling Hongxian nowadays as the real stuff
One thing is remarkable the bowl tried to comply to the tariff act , she the word china , only the word china is made with the wrong fluidum
happens more when it not stamped
the plate is rather bleechy and rudimentary , well there is nothing wrong with honest work
they imitated an tongzhi or guangxu floral design and the coffeecolor obverse rim is more luster for the simple reason it is made later
the bats are rather well and are known to be early republic , so let,s stick to 1920-1940, well that ain,t real bad, we beat all the PROC period porcelain
