This ashtray was produced in 1983 as a promo for The R.J. Reynold Company's Camel cigarettes. It is 16 Cm on each side, and is 2.5Cm in height. Oddly, it is made of some type of plastic that does not seem to be heat resistant. Nevertheless, it is a nice looking collectible.
With the demise of smoking, newer ashtrays are few. And older ones such as this make a great receptacle for small objects, e.g., coins, jewelry, tobacco paper clips etc.
Yes vintage glass ashtrays have been selling good this year..for trinket/catch alls as you stated. I have a camel brand pool table ashtray somewhere. We played in the APA under the Camel pool league..so have several Camel brand items.
Wonderful Camel ashtray, I'd walk a mile for it :)
Hi, dav2no1.....thanks for the input! I do have a nice collection of ashtrays. One can acquire these for cheap prices at house sales and in box lots at auctions. They are nice collectibles, are practical, and can fetch good prices!
Good day, Jenni.....yes, that is a beauty of an ashtray! Ha, ha, ha...I recall that jingle ! Such curiosities are fun to collect....
