I'm guessing it's a souvenir coin? Don't see anything in searches

      Hi, TrayTray. :-)

I'd say that dav2no1 is probably right about this being some kind of souvenir coin or token. I did a Google Lens search, and got bupkes.

It looks like it's made from a non-precious metal alloy with a lot of copper in it, judging from the few bright spots.

Here is a People's Republic brass Proof Pattern "Marco Polo" 100 Yuan 1982 with an image of the Jiayu Pass on the reverse:

Whoops, I forgot to mention that the breaking up of the name "Jiayu" into two strings (JIA YU) seems like a tell that this isn't currency.

apostata, I did wonder whether you could be tempted into opining on this item. };-)

No, I didn't think the item in this post was official currency.

I'm sorry to read about your medical problems.

I once narrowly averted a potentially very serious mishap in which a nurse was about to give me somebody else's IV medication during the wee hours of the night.

It was a good thing that I asked a question. Nurses are by and large dedicated professionals, but they're also human and can make mistakes.

I came out of anesthesia after a series of medical interventions, woke up in the psychiatric ward (I am an epileptic and agoraphobic), they probably think I am a basket case, hahaha, a patient wanted to beat up a nurse, because his puppy dog ??was not allowed in the hospital ward

so it is always fun in Dutch hospitals hahaha

, in fact I am very satisfied with nurses, even a Muslim nurse was holding my hand, which is technically not allowed (haram), so it was an quite heroic deed, of her i always give them chrysanthemum, malta covid coins for appreciation

      no sweat
