Happy Holidays to Collectors Weekly Show & Tell. :-)
This item falls into the category of: things I notice in movies, because of CW S&T. That is, I knew that this decorative container was a Whitman Salmagundi tin because of CW S&T.
Why is it holiday-themed? You could make the argument that the movie in which it makes an appearance (1985's "The Color Purple") is holiday themed, because there are holiday scenes in it, or because decorative candy tins are given as gifts on holidays; however, there is at least one more reason.
There is a new version of "The Color Purple" film to be released on December 25, 2023.
