    15” long fully extended, 6” long completely retracted…., no identifying marks… works! No idea of age… if anyone has information, I’d be grateful

      It's possibly a fake from India. You're going to have look at it real closely and compare to known examples. See this article..

      Judging by the style of the box, I believe Dave is correct about this being a fake from India. There are some very convincing items, from India, on the market today that can fool even the best.

      It's still a really nice find. Reproductions are a lot of fun to collect and I have many in my collection.
