Circus wagon Number two (2) was made for "COCO" the chimpanzee. COCO can stick his arm out between the bars to wave hello to the kids during the circus parade. COCO had an accident and couldn't wait to relieve himself at the circus field, and he went in the cage.
His cage is in proportion with Samson, the tiger's cage. I also finished up the harness for "SIMBA" the elephant and I also gave him a trainer to sit on his back.
P.S. This is the kind of things you do when there are no good auctions to attend .......

Very nice work! To me they are both fascinating and yet sad pieces.

Fascinating because the rich history of the circus and giving people the opportunity to see these animals in person and spark enthusiasm to learn more.

Sad because the animals are in captivity and not free. We had the famous "Ivan the gorilla" at the nearby B&I Shopping Center. I have many memories as a kid seeing him, but as an adult I now understand how sad it must've been for him and know now why he was so angry. He was there for 27 years..

I definitely agree with you Dave, we really didn't need or should we have treated animals like we did. Fortunately, today's zoos have a much better environment for the animals to live in. I do remember as a child, going to the zoo, where the animals were kept in cages. You could see by their actions that they were in discomfort . Thank goodness that zoos are no longer like that here in the USA. If only the rest of the worlds zoos would see it that way.
