Pedestal Ashtray
Or if you prefer..standing ashtray. I got this in an auction lot. And I spotted the amber glass ashtray in a separate lot. There were several glass ashtrays in the lot and I knew that this one belonged to the standing ashtray.
The pedastal ashtray was painted gold. I disassembled it, stripped the paint and polished the metal. There is some pitting, but I don't mind the look...its not so noticeable after the polish. In the future it could be powdercoated if someone wanted to.
**Sorry about the dog food on the floor. My male is missing a few teeth and he drops food everywhere when eating. Later he goes back and picks it up.**
Pictures are from my basement workshop, so yeah ..it's a workshop and the rubber mat gets dirty from projects.
Here's a link to my other pedestal ashtrays..they can be bought cheap and make a great catch-all for keys, etc.

Nice one Dave!! A very rare commodity these days!!
I have always been a fan of ashtray stands and this amber glass is my most desired when I display them.
Scott- Thanks..I try to buy them when I see them. Guess I'm a collector now..have 3.
PhilD - Thanks..all three I own have the amber glass ashtrays. It worked out great because the glass lot had about a half dozen ashtrays..I realized early in the auction, that the one was an expensive Fenton. So that one ashtrays will sell and pay for the whole glass ashtray lot and my pedestal ashtray.
dav2no1, Cool. :-)
I remember pedestal ashtrays from my childhood.
Poor Ueli. At least he cleans up after himself -- eventually. };-)
Nice cleanup job I have one that’s pitted and Not polished and flaking
Thanks Kera..Ueli does make a mess when he's eating.
V33- Thanks for the comments. I wanted to make sure that I cleaned it and stopped any further rusting.
