This was a surprise find at the Flea Market Today, February 10th, 2024, a Coca Cola Chattanooga Bottling Co. Paperweight, with the impressed Santa Maria Ship, with a G on the Sail bottom mark, of John Gentile Art Glass! It's 3 1/4" diameter x 2 3/4" high. Here's some information, about John Gentile Art Glass:
John Gentile (1923-2006) was born into a glass making family, his father Peter being the first. and one of the main contributing innovators of the American paperweight renaissance. He began in the glass business in 1947 in Star City, West Virginia. John made a large range of paperweights and decorative table ware, he catered to the lucrative tourist trade, but over the decades he honed his skills and perfected his particular style. he produced high quality, unique and technically challenging paperweights. When John passed away in 2006 the company closed down shortly after.
