Early 1900s Dairy Advertising Cap Pick Opener
If you've seen a few of my posts, then you know i love can/bottle openers and history mysteries! This has both! This is one of the main reasons I bought that auction kitchen lot.
The pick says "The consumers dairy co. Toledo, O Phone Main 8197" I haven't found any information on The Consumers Dairy Co. I've seen a bottle or two online and one other different opener, but that's about it.
By the 4 digit phone number it has to be between 1905-1930 era. Both sides of the pick says abbreviated "patent applied for" The handle has beautiful scroll work on the opposite side from the advertising.
I've reached out to the Toledo historical society for help. I can't find anything on "the consumers dairy co". I'll update when/if I get more information.
Very cool!! I love the scrolling design on the backside.
Thanks Scott. They just don't make quality like they did back then.
I heard back from the East Toledo Historical Society..unfortunately there's not much. They sent me an address listing and a Google map image of that address. That's it..no further information. So the mystery goes on..
I would love to make soap bubbles with it.....
