This was a super find on eBay AU - an absolutely HUGE vase by Kralik.
As so often with my purchases, this has a bit of a story to go with it. I spotted on Sunday night, & the seller had it listed as pick up only. Even though it was in my home state, it was a long way away from me, & not feasible to travel there. So I contacted the seller & asked if they'd consider postage...plus my best offer. They were a bit unsure about posting it, but I was able to provide a guide to packing it safely & so the transaction proceeded successfully. The seller responded very well to my coaching efforts (I have had to do it a few times previously) & did a great job of packing this truly epic vase.
It is made from a single, fairly thick layer of slightly tinted clear glass with a martele decor & an iridescent finish. There is applied decoration of dark green foliage & purple/black fruit - perhaps plums.
It measures an impressive 37 cm tall, 9.3 cm across the top rim, & 11 cm across the base.
Now I just need to find a spot for it...wish me luck!
    Made by Kralik, circa 1900.

This is absolutely stunning!!! So glad you were able to have it shipped to you vs having to drive a long distance to pick it up. And I'm glad this beautiful piece made it safely to you without incident. Wonderful eBay find!!!

Much appreciated, Bernard! This is biggest (by 1 cm) Kralik vase I have. The other one was purchased in person so no worries about packing there!

Thanks also, Scott! I was just so glad that the seller was open to taking advice. I'm always happy to share info as it results in a win - win outcome all round.
