ROUGH METAL HOOK FOR ??

Not sure! This is rough made, and designed for a purpose? 14.5" x 4.5". Looks too narrow for a whiffletree or a "spreader" for butchering. Whatever it is, it could have been made in a simpler fashion - straight across to the hooks (such as they are. Hooks do not think like they would hold anything very well without slipping off, and they are not pointed like they would be for a carcass. Rather, they are "chewed off" at the ends.) Heavy stock, like 1/2". "Loopdey-loop" center makes me think of a spring! Besides, it was never cleaned/shined up. Any thoughts or questions?
