chinese wood print?

Hi, Just picked this up in a local charity shop. I think it is a Chinese wood block print...but not sure.

I would appreciate it if anyone can translate the writing so that I can research it more (I'm sure we have all done that - bought something because it is a mystery!!)

Apart from being a nice piece of art, what intrigued me is that the writing is in pencil...any ideas?
