Lovely piece, probably new, although there is some wear of gilt on rim, and very minor on handles. Picked up from fbm about 3 weeks ago for 25.00. The lady who wa was maybe late 50s, was selling her mother's things. Approximately 17"x10"x6", will update with exact measurements. That's all I know about it, but if anyone else knows more, I'm excited to hear it! Thanks for looking!
Gorgeous! The koi fish on inside are really beautiful
I herad somewhere that the pots with fish and plants on the inside where for putting fish in, aquariums before they could make clear glass.
I suppose thats one possibility BHIFOS! Ii so far have heard these referred to as jardineres and foot baths,, I think the heavy porcelain would hold the heat much longer than a plastic tub,, but I'm afraid to actually use it,, in fear of damaging the interior art.. I believe the work could be a transfer and hand painted combination, but just a guess from examining it, I'm not knowledgeable at this point to know for sure. Hoping Apostata might lend his expertise once again, and I will learn more! Thanks newfld, it presents much better in life then my lowly pictures can portray, and I am going to update with better lighting soon! Thanks all for the loves, you're all wonderful, and I am grateful!
Very beautiful !~
as i already told everyone, i am overrated as an assessor ,among the blind, the one-eyed is king
the reverse mark looks promising the so called double frame ferro red, but the fluidum of the ferromark is to dense , it almost looks like sirop, and we probably need some discoloratiion of the mark
i wonder if it coulb be even a decal if you don,t press to hard because you got no pressure diffirences, to distinguish
and my second worry , i can,t read the Chinese, lack of skill probably , a type of fake abbreviated qianlong maybe
it is highly unlickelyy to make the whole bowl consistent , because the inner design is an decal
we have to shut any early ware like 19 century canton or republic period, IMO it can,t be earlier than 1960 and it is even likely to be later than 1960
well it is not a major disadvantage compared to earlier period,
i think you should be rather proud of yourselve, no fading, or dissapation ,rather neutral piece,at the lower segments they ran surprising well
well done for a starting collector

Thanks Waki! Have been hopeful you would take a look at this! Are things getting sorted out for you regarding the health stuff? Was worried, saw your profile update, and got more worried! Was so happy that you were still hanging in there. I guess there's no way to dm anyone on c.w, and I respect everyone's privacy, but sometimes it's frustrating, especially when I get concerned about how someone is doing. So now am I supposed to check mark for being a decal? I guessed the interior was a transfer, but will see what I can learn about the mark. Have a wonderful day!
well if i can,t find it ,you probably can,t find it , i got gigantic databases , sometimes we get outplayed, i think my assessment is solid
don,t worry we never forget only till the cascade falls, but we probably never find this, i am not an etymologist dear
I have no doubts about your assessment whatsoever, was only curious about the mark being a decal, as I haven't heard of that. Sending positive thoughts and prayers for your ongoing health stuff!
