Frontier Gold Cowboy

This extremely rare 60” Gold Cowboy sign belonged to my friend Bobby Knudsen who recently sold it at auction. It’s the nicest of the 7 known signs of this model. These are the rarest of all the different models of Frontier signs. We know these were used in the mid 40s sometime as the pix of the one in Rockport was Jan 1949 during the worst storm of the Century.
The first Signs Frontier used in 1940-43 ish were the 60” all round white signs. In about 43- 50 they went to the White 6’ Keyhole sign. In about 45-48 somewhere, they made a few gold Cowboy signs. In 1950-55 they switched everything to the red keyhole signs and made 2 different styles of them. In 55 they began the red and white Silouette signs that they kept until Bud Robineau, the owner, died and the Company was bought by Husky Oil.
Yes, we own one of the 7 known Gold Cowboy Frontier signs and it’s on display at the Sparks Museum and Event Center in Provo Ut.
