Here is a 6"H alexandrite/neodymium glass textured hamper basket with removable cat head lid, made by Summit Glass in a reissue of a Greentown Glass design, with V mark for Summit owner Russell Vogelsong on underside, ca the 1970s. The cat was called Chessie
I've never seen a piece like this before! It is very beautiful!
Typical cat behaviour. Find an empty anything, occupy the space then fight tooth and claw when the human needs it. Sulks if ousted. Only exception when cat senses human is planning a visit to the vet.
Should be OK, your cat looks very laid back.
The basket looks lovely too.
Very unusual treasure, I love it !
Great piece you have..Pink is super popular at the moment.
Thank you all for the love

For your fabulous comments and praise I thank you so much
DejaVu, me neither, finding this unusual piece was a total surprise! I scan around for interesting animal glass and loved this one on sight esp in the lavender neo glass...it also came in brown slag & green, but this is a special color & I had it on watch, fortunately it waited for me :)
sklo42, I know, that imperious feline attitude! Once I tried to gently move a cat over with my foot, she turned to look at the foot very annoyed, and took a nice swipe with claws out...they will not be budged if they don't want to be right. Bring a carrier out on vet day and watch them disappear, so true! This glass cat does look quite laid back, surveying her kingdom from high above
Phil it is truly a unique item, there are so many lovely touches like the different crossways patterning in the glass & that cute cat face, she has that inscrutable look that gives all cats an air of mystery
Dave, I can definitely see a pink cast in this glass, good call! Oh you are right, pink glass is very popular and therefore often hard to obtain or super pricey, for example the Murano alabastro pink animals are often way off the charts for me, or if reasonable they are gone quickly
So pleased that you liked this cat on basket piece Sean, you are always most appreciative & I thank you so much!
this is not typical cat behavior, social enrichment is the most domination and mitigating determinant and operante conditionering is of importance
This is not typical cat behavior, social enrichment is the most dominant and mitigating determinant and operant conditioning is important, social enrichment is the most dominant and mitigating determinant and operant conditioning is important, you are overemphasizing teritorial behavior
actually the question is concerning the thesis , is divertissement working as escapism, well try it
Thank you apostata for the comment and information, appreciate it
