Chief Wahoo Electric Tonic Bottle
Approximately 11" tall x 3 1/4" wide
Manufacturer: Wheaton Glass Company Millville, N.J.
Circa: 1970s
This is a fantasy bottle made in the 1970s by Wheaton glass. It is based on the Cathedral pickle jars. There was never any such brand. These bottles can be found on different colors and sizes. This is the largest one I have seen.
Bottle is embossed on all sides with ‘Chief Wahoo Electric Tonic, Walbridge Co., Dunsmuir, Cal., Celebrated Remedy, Cathedral Brand.’. The bottom appears to say 'Edition III'.
FYI: I created the shaped cork. I thought it would look cool.
Gorgeous green glass, and your cork looks great on top
The "famous" Wahoo !!~
Thanks to everyone for the loves and looking.
Jenni - Thanks for the compliment. I get ideas stuck in my head. Even before I bought the bottle, I knew that's what I wanted to do. So of course I had to buy it to test my idea..lol
PhilDM..- In some research I saw Wahoo in different things...like the baseball mascot, a name for a fish, name for several different products, etc. Really just a fun bottle and one can imagine that something similar could've been around in the era.
Nice shape and color, and the cork is fantastic! Well done!
