Hello I’ve just rediscovered this lovely medal marked 19 sub area swimming sports Munster, hopefully someone knows more about it,
It’s the same size as a silver dollar roughly.

    Unsolved Mystery

      Steptoe1, Cool. :-)

I see that you have another near twin:

      https://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/322028-medal

FYI, the engraving on the medal edge has two little dots above the "U" in the place name. Those two little dots are known as an "umlaut," a term coined by Jacob Grimm of fairy tale fame. An umlaut is a diacritic mark that affects pronounciation of the vowel sound:

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umlaut_(linguistics)

If you don't have a keyboard that handles umlaut characters, you can follow the basic alphabet character with an "e." Hence, Münster becomes "Muenster."

I found a near twin of your medals (The wreath on the reverse side is a bit different) from the 1920s:

      https://www.atlasantiques.co.uk/en-GB/coins-currency/antique-1920s-un-named-silver-swimming-breast-stroke-medal/prod_12904

Because your medals have both English and German on them, I suspect they are from international swimming competitions.
