I figure getting some rugs like this may beat getting new flooring although they can be expensive. This one was not. It is about 30" x 50". which is perfect for this spot. There was another long one that was $720 so I passed on it. According to an image search this one is from Pakistan. It is supposedly hand made which is probably true. Got a feeling they have an industry of making vintage rugs. This one has some wear so it probably is. This lays much nicer than the previous rugs I have owned. It doesn't move or bunch up when walked upon by people or cats.
Lovely rug, I really like the four central geometric shapes - the cat looks quite comfy on it
Thank you very much Newfld. Yes King Jingles is.
fortapache, Hey, King Jingles ain't no fool: he's a cat. };-)
I have a small oriental rug very similar to this one:

My cat thinks this rug is her best buddy. She doesn't just lay on it, she rolls around on it, and occasionally licks, bites and rabbit-kicks it.
That latter behavior is when I step in to stop her.
Anyway, cats -- like most of the animal world -- live in a different sensory universe from humans.
They can't be fooled by synthetic fibers; they know wool when they smell it.
Thank you very much again keramikos. Yes the cats are enjoying it and natural fibers are the best.
