Spotted this on eBay AU last weekend as a buy it now & of course I was up for it!
I feel this weird & wonderful vase was unknowingly made for me, as it ticks all the boxes - pink, fancy, offbeat, applied flower, uranium content, etc. It does have some condition issues but then so do I, LOL! ;-)
The vase measures an epic 37 cm tall, 9.5 cm across the top rim, & 11.5 cm across the base, which does not have a pontil mark. To emphasise what a massive unit this actually is, the widest point around (what I will call the "shoulders") measures 54 cm in girth!
It is made from pale pink translucent glass (pinker in real life) with internal short broken threads in opalescent milky white. Almost like a Peloton type decor. There is a large applied flower (a slipper orchid I think) with foliage. There are uranium elements to the applied decoration. As can be seen, there is a petal missing from the orchid & also a leaf. But it made this a very reasonable price for such a large & exceptional piece of art glass. I can certainly live with the damage, though! I've never seen an applied orchid flower for one thing...
I think this is most likely Bohemian origin, possibly by Kralik

Lovely piece and it's big, shame about the petal & leaf but do you grow old waiting for another....nah... I would have grabbed it too!! :)

Many thanks, Bernard! Yes, no way I could've turned it down, & as I like to say, you wouldn't throw out the Venus De Milo for having no arms! :-)

Gorgeous! I have weaned myself off these but I never minded flaws on the flowers and foliage as, for the most part, they go unnoticed. I'm also a great fan of the colour which I always thought of as 'Hint of Pink'.

Many thanks, Peggy, thought you'd enjoy it!
I was once again caught hook, line & sinker by this one, as much as try to resist really big glass (I think this is now officially the tallest Kralik vase I have by 1 cm).
I love the term "Hint of Pink", it sounds like a paint colour chip or perhaps a 1950s lipstick colour!
