This Matchbox Carrying Case features the #41 Ford GT on the cover. The Ford GT was first released in 1965. The case itself has cardboard dividers which were soon replaced by plastic trays. I am not exactly sure when but I know by 1968 they had switched to plastic. There is a much more common version with the Ford GT on the cover with the plastic trays. The cardboard dividers were not durable.
Johnny Hill or Hill Johnny has his name on the back cover seen in photo #2. Johnny put stickers showing where each of his models went. I used to divide mine up by the type of vehicle, construction, farm, passenger cars and so on.
Plenty of exciting posts to come but I haven't found more Matchbox so we may be Matchbox impaired.
