Some folks may recall that last week I made a super lucky find at a local op shop (thrift store) of a piece of Bohemian Art Nouveau glass.
Well, in my experienced op shopper's mind, I've noticed that on occasion such lucky finds can run in clusters.
Following last week's score, I speculated that it may have came with a bunch of other similar items, donated from an estate, perhaps. I've seen it before, someone's once treasured collection suddenly unappreciated, & now up for grabs.
So over the last week, I've kept a close watch on the stock in this shop.
Went in today, & lo & behold, even before I fully walked in the door I saw this - ANOTHER Bohemian Art Nouveau vase!
It is made from green glass with an iridescent finish, measuring 16 cm tall, 3 cm across the top rim, & 4 cm across underneath.
The simple form features four small indentations around the base.
A detailed metal collar with a classic Art Nouveau design featuring waterlilies ornaments the top rim.
There is an internal crack but hey, would I turn this down? It is wonderful & gave me such a buzz!
Bohemian origin, circa 1900.
Stay tuned because I picked up another interesting piece of late Victorian/Art Nouveau glass in that shop, & quite possibly from the same estate...happy days! :-)
Love the collar, as we have discussed they are so often missing it really makes the piece!! :)
Many thanks, Bernard!
This is a particularly nice collar, too...very pleased!
