Airfix HO/OO U.S. Cavalry Circa 1970s

The Airfix HO/OO kits were popular in the 1960s and 70s. HO/OO is pretty much HO Scale which is 1/87th but the scales vary a bit and some are larger. This one is pretty much close to HO scale.
Obviously these are US Cavalry troops. There are 36 pieces, 12 troopers, 12 horses and 12 bases. Note the horses and bases do not get along at all. In fact they hate each other. But eventually they can be joined.
Most of the figures are armed with swords aside from the one guy with a carbine behind the downed horse. In reality the swords were left in the barracks and one out of four troopers would hold the horses and the others fought on foot. It is hard enough to hit a target on foot let alone riding a horse. Enough history lesson.
I do have another set of these I painted, I shall see if I can find them.
