My favourite bookcase with a green marble top, rosewood and mahogany,, in my collection. I will add the pic of it in my home, if you have never seen it in the pics of my home on this site.! There is a label on the back with the makers tag but no info on the original company, but I do know that it was made in Canada also. Because of Trump, whom I doubt if he knows anything, it does not have to go over the border, and it is in my collection. It was made in Canada. I lost most of my photos now, as my old computer broke down and will have to add a photo of it in my home. The detail of the terms, Etruscan or egyptian in nature, are splendid and the gilt bronze caryatids are as chiseled and chased in the finest way I have ever seen. I can find and would buy another in a second if I had more room !~

That's terrible. Is the disk completely unsalvageable?

Thank you keramikos. No, I was lucky that he was able to get some of the photos saved. I had that old dell since mid 2007 and started to use it in mid 2008. Luckily early this week I was able to erase some of the sites he opened stuff up on and finally start to unload some new photos starting yesterday. Now finally I can do some better photos since I got a new camera a month ago. I was basically unprepared to work on this site for almost a year now. Whew...

It sounds like things are basically under control now.

It actually, took several hours by my antique repair in my city, to try to get the lost pics. Several tries as it kept becoming stuck, was a nightmare for him to fix, still not sure if I got all the pics. So either I have them or just hard to find them as everything was random !

PhilDMorris, I'm not sure I understood all of the comments about your computer problems, especially the one about erasing sites.

Was your IT repair person trying to revive the whole 2007 Dell PC, or just trying to extract all of the data from the disk(s)?

Thank you keramikos, yes he did take the hard drive only and I thought it better to give up the old comp. We both tried to fix especially after I tried myself to get it to work as I already had bought a new computer. Beside the photos I sm still trying to get some things that I had on the old comp. I feel I need to hire some Univ. student to give me some lessons on pics,as I am having less time now to work on it.

Yup, a 2007 PC probably couldn't even be updated to the latest version of whatever OS you were running.

"Beside the photos I sm still trying to get some things that I had on the old comp."

Combing through an entire disk can be grisly. I myself try to keep all personal files on thumb drives (and backed up by other thumb drives), not that that approach is completely fool-proof.

"I feel I need to hire some Univ. student to give me some lessons on pics,as I am having less time now to work on it."

It might not be a bad idea to hire some youngun to help. Not only do they have a lot of energy, most of them were born with a computer in their hands.
