From the Rose Bowl flea market today. This is a Denix non-working replica of the Colt Peacemaker aka model 1873. Every western has everyone using these even those set in the Civil War which was prior to 1873. As usual with these they have all the working parts but can not be made to fire. Unlike the real thing you can play with them but as usual no pointing at people just in case you accidently picked up a real one.
This one is an engraved example. Not sure who would have used one like this but the engraving does not affect the functionality. . Now days they are for show. It has a seven-inch barrel which would make the gun easier to shoot and one may actually hit something with the real thing.
Now to wrap it up with photo #4 it has a working shell ejector, got to get the cartridge cases out before you can reload. You can see the shell ejector also as the underlug below the barrel. Gives it that Colt .45 look.
Outstanding!! This model is a personal favorite of mine. I also love the .38 as well.
Thank you very much Scott. Yes a .38 would be nice. Perhaps a Lightning.
