Tadpoles or tears........or cairngorms?
These tears are clear and not green.
There are eight of them around the decanter that meet at the bottom which has a ground and polished pontil.
This decanter is a mystery. I have seen another cairngorm decanter: British or Bohemian Art Nouveau Style Glass Decanter
a new piece by "cogito" on CW.
I've put this one hurriedly on to show similarities to his. I had supposed my decanter to be Whitefriars. But I am asking for help here and advice as to whether it is Stuart or Whitefriars.
I've had another look at the stopper and see that it is marked '8' and the lip of the decanter has an engraved '19'. This troubles me a bit. The stopper is a Whitefriars shape. But is it exclusive to them?
Many thanks scandinavian_pieces!
I like how you have a little display pedistal V. Really helps with the photos. Might have to get one myself. Really pretty and peaceful piece.
Thanks Amber. I've only got two so far. I'm always looking for them. I also use the Chinese wooden bases. But these perspex ones are very good. One is low and wide and the other is taller and not so wide. They work well together. I do not know of any makers of them and have looked on the net for people who have asked about them. They are difficult to find here. Perhaps they were props in jewellery stores?
A belated thanks as well to BELLIN68, cogito & PhilDavidAlexanderMorris!
My apologies!
