Nice little pin back button found today at an estate auction in a small box. Quite sure it is a period item of the era of apparel shown in the image.

Can the badge be read as to what city issued it?
No there is no detail to be seen under magnification on the badge. The hat number appears to be # 41. Chicago could be a possibility on the department.
