First I would like to say Hello, My name is Bob and I have enjoyed coming to this site on occasion to just browse and dream. I have wanted to register and post some of my collections for quite a while but could never find the time, until now that is.
I'm going to start out with a minor request if you will. I was wondering if there was anyone who might have any information reguarding a lamp that I inherited from my parents. It is a beautiful table lamp and I can remember my Dad bringing it home somewhere around 1973 or 1974. My father was a fancier of old things (must be where I get it from) and never passed up an opportunity to purchase something that caught his eye.
If anyone can offer any kind of information on this particular lamp, I would appreciate it very much. I'm going to post the pictures tonight and then when I get back home I will try to post a few more pictures of anything that you all may think I need too, in order to identify the lamp.
Overall height - 22 1/4"
Shade Dia. - 15 7/8"
Shade Height - Approx. 7 1/4"
Top Nut Height – 4 1/4"
Base Dia – 6 1/2"
Body Width – 5 1/4"
The lamp is marked in 3 places. "HFW" or "HTW" is in 1 location and "HARRISON" is in 2 locations.
The markings are Raised lettering and I assume they are part of the casting mold used to cast the base (instead of recessed lettering that could indicate a Stamping or Part of the casting mold).
The "HARRISON" markings are backwards in this fashion, "NOSIRRAH", in both locations and seem to be Stamped into the casting mold using a DIE. Whereas the "HFW", "HLM" or HTW" seem to be stamped into the mold by hand using a single "l" stamp.
The shade panels seem to be original. I say this because I used to work for a glass company that also produced custom retro fit glass panels for just about anything that didn't cost a fortune to retool for and in my opinion there seems to be only 3 edges that (might) be tool cut, the rest seem to be chipped to fit (again, my opinion). My restroom scales are acting up again because after weighing myself, then myself holding the lamp, it says there is a 14 1/2 lb. Difference and there is no way this lamp weighs 14 1/2 lbs. It feels more like 22-23+ lbs. (My opinion again) this lamp is HEAVY.
Again, Thank you in advance for any and all help that you can offer me to identify this lamp. It's plain driving me crazy every time I look at it and think about how little I know about it.

Beautiful lamp I had one close to it from my grandmother . But a different maker. Mine was from 1920's . Stained glass lamp . There are some good experts on here for lamps someone should be able to tell you about yours :-)

Thank you inky & Manikin, I agree with you both, this is a beautiful example of human creativity. I can't begin to count the different ways my parents said they would punish me if I so much as looked, touched, breathed on, rough housed around and/or created a wake near this lamp.
Uh Oh, he said "His Parents would Punish him" Yes I grew up with a mother who's second job was keeping me out of trouble, and a dad who's second job was making me pay dearly when me and mom failed.

LOL Rev ! My Grandmother had 3 of these in her front room and 20 plus grand kids and many many more great kids and how they survived I will never know but we played right at the tables they sat on :-) I have one posted in my posts that I really loved . The one similar to your's I gave my sister . Just remember don't use to high watt bulb in it can crack glass I learned the hard way :-( I love the base on yours !
Hi there.....I'm a newcomer and definitely not a pro.... but your lamp looks Art Deco and the shade appears to be slag glass.... beautiful....apparently your Dad had good taste! Just noticed the post was from 2 years ago....no doubt you have all your answers by now:)
