H.E. Rainaud multicolored cold painted lamp shade with floral spray and vine pattern over cream colored slag glass panels. Green Art Nouveau cold painted base with tulip and vine pattern. Dimensions: 26” x 7.5” base; 17” x 7.5 shade.
The H.E. Rainaud Company made lamps in Meriden, CT., from 1916 to about 1930. It specialized in lamps with metal bases and shades made of pierced metal over colored or slag glass.
Hi, Bellin68. Thanks for the kind comments. I wish there was something significant to say about this lamp, but it was simply a good eBay purchase. The woman I bought it from knew she had something of worth, but not the maker, etc. We negotiated a price and it's graced my bedroom ever since. The nice thing about these Rainaud lamps is the cold painted bronze look that they cultivated at the company.
I recently purchased an H.E.Rainaud lamp. On the inside of the base it has the number 16. Can anyone tell me what this number means? I know these lamps were made from 1916-1930. Could it possibly be the year it was made? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
