Shown here is a Hampden Lafayette pocket watch. It is a size 18 with 11 jewels, nickel plates and solid gold balance weights. It is key wind and set. The open face, gold filled case is nicely detailed. This watch was made in 1880.
Very nice, thanks for sharing, love this piece.
You're welcome, I have but one question, how does the "set" work, is there a lever or push pin to differ from wind?
Wow! Beautiful watch pops... Love the case!!!
Kerry, There is an setting arbor located in the center of the hands that the key fits on. Then you turn the key to set the time.
Kerry, I have added a photo showing the key on the setting arbor. I hope this will answer your question.
Neat, wasn't even thinking that the key worked on the face side, pretty neat.
That is just beautiful, I had no idea they had keys.
Pops, your watches are incredible. I send a blanket of love for them all.
Thanks for delighting our eyes,
Tony.
