    blunderbuss2
    (199 items)

Here's scottvez with his 2 loves. His wife & collection of Civil War daguerreotypes & tin types at the Richmond, VA Civil War show. Of course a few shots of other things of interest, which of course includes my obsession with blunderbusses. Great show but only had 4 hrs when I could have spent the full 2 days. The topper of my visit to the States, hands down!

Mani, you know I don't pull your legs! I'm above that. Yes, I'm on Uncle Sambo's Plantation. (before I get kick-back on that term, I've been using that expression for at least a decade before King Obama). Eye4 you beat me to it!
The show was fantastic & like the days when it was antiques instead of survival crap. I was lucky to have caught a pic of an elusive scottvez in his natural environment. I made it back to KY without usual husbands with shotguns. In my defense. it was a fast trip. Both are great people & enjoyed meeting a fellow CW addict.

Eye4, blunderbusses go back to the 1500's & phased out by about 1840. The flared muzzle did give some spread to the shot but was mainly for ease of loading on a moving coach, horse etc.. Some were issued during the Amer. Revolution.

Right on Steve. Foot officer's sword & cavalry sabre. Sold the sabre at the show. Where have you been hiding? Under a T-34 or some such probably!

It was great to talk with you at the show buss-- glad that you had a good time.

I hope that the rest of your US visit goes according to plans.

Yeah Scott, been a good visit. Been poked, stuck, folded & mutilated & have named one medical clinic "Orifice World". Test I came for finally scheduled this Fri. & I leave Monday. If they have that show every year, I will plan next visit around it & spend more time there.

If you have some flexibility on when you come to the US-- there are some other shows that are significantly closer (to Lexington) and much bigger:

      Louisville, KY (2,000 tables): FEB
Mansfield, OH (750 tables and tons of reenactors/ demonstrations): MAY
Nashville, TN (1,000 tables and CS arty Battery demonstration): DEC

    18. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 8 years ago
Scott, didn't see you at the Lexington show in June.
    19. scottvez scottvez, 8 years ago
I haven't done that show before-- didn't know that you were up in the states.

How was the show? Mainly guns or a good amount of militaria?

      scott
    20. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 8 years ago
It was a mix but I enjoyed it. Antiques are still my thing.
    21. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 8 years ago
Scottvez. Have you ever gone to the Knob Creek machine gun shoot & gun show ? We will probably make it this year.
