Here is my latest skillet restoration. The first picture is how it looked when I bought it. Layers upon layers of baked on crud. The only thing you could see was part of the outline of the Griswold logo. The second picture is after three days in my electrolysis tank. It took all of that crud off and stripped it down to the bare metal, like when it was brand new out of the factory. You can actually see everything that was hidden underneath the crud. The third picture is now, after two rounds of seasoning. Griswold used this logo from 1920-1940. So now I have a nice, cast iron skillet that's 70+ to 90+ years old, and it's as good as new. I'll be making cornbread in it this weekend. The experts tell me that the line going across the middle of it is a casting imperfection caused when the sand in the mold shifted slightly during the process.
These are great!!!!
